Up for auction is a vintage Ibanez 524av F-style mandolin with its original case. It has a solid carved Spruce top and solid Maple back and sides. This mandolin was built in the 1970’s to compete (at a lower price point) with the Gibson F5 that was being produced at the time, and has the same style of inlay and general look. It is a high quality mandolin that was intentionally crafted as a professional instrument, and sounds and plays just great. It’s in excellent cosmetic shape and is outfitted with an aftermarket K&K mandolin pickup, so it’s ready to plug in for live or studio use. The only minor cosmetics issue I can find are some small dings on the neck shaft, and one small finish chip on the back of the headstock crown (edge). This is the Ibanez model that was played and endorsed by Bill Monroe. Model 524: Three-point scroll F-style Artist body, solid carved spruce top, solid curly maple back and sides, two f-holes, cream binding, hard curly maple neck, extended fret bound ebony fingerboard with fancy MOP design inlays, bound scroll-style headstock with tortoise color overlay, pearl logo, and floral design inlays, four-per-side gold tuners with pearl buttons, adjustable bridge, gold engraved tailpiece, raised bound tortoise pickguard, antique violin finish.Seller accepts Paypal with a fixed rate of $50.00 to ship US only. Thanks for looking!
