This is really cool. You are looking at a 1963 Silvertone Model 1474 Reverberation Twin Twelve Combo Amp. This was the "Top of the Line" amp in the 1961 Sears Catalog. The first Silvertone Amp to ever offer Reverb (Reverberation). Built from 1961 to 1963. 50 Watts. This is a TONE MONSTER. Breaks up nicely. Lush and warm tube tones. Great for Rock, Blues, Surf, Country, Alternative. The 1474 is very rare and is known as the best sounding of the Silvertone amps. Since they only had a 3 year run and now that Jack White is playing through these amps, they are very hard to find. The 1474 was built for Silvertone by Danelectro. The Speaker configuration is as follows: One Original Jensen Alnico. One Brand New Jensen Ceramic C-12R. The Reverb circuit has been Re-worked and a Brand New Mod Reverb Tank has been installed. The reverb sounds great. Common problem on these Danelectro built Silvertones. The Reverb is Fantastic!The Reverb Sounds Awesome!
Serial Number : #185.10410Best of Both Worlds. Player as well as a Collector. The value of these vintage Silvertone Amps has been steadily going up. This is an amp you can really use. It is not museum quality but it is in Good Condition. Especially considering this is a 53 year old vintage amp. You will never loose any money on this amp if you ever decide to sell it and you will probably actually make a profit if you ever let it go. Not too many of these amps out there especially in this condition. Kind of like dirt. They are not making anymore of them. Rare and Collectable!Our Amp Tech did a Major Service on this Amp. You will not have to spend any additional monies. Gig Ready on Arrival!
Cosmetics: Good Condition. There is some wear on this amp. The Tolex has scratches, scuffs and minor tears. The instrument control bezel in really good shape. All lettering is clear and legible. Grill cloth is faded and stains. A few small frays but not any major rips or tears. Overall, good shape. Normal wear and tear. It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
