First introduced in 1958, the ES-345 gave players a deluxe, upscale version of the legendary ES-335. Today, Gibson Memphis is proud to present the Limited Run 1964 ES-345 , which offers this timeless Gibson classic with gorgeous figured maple veneers, vintage-correct appointments, vintage-style humbuckers and versatile VariTone switching. The body of the Gibson Memphis Limited Run 1964 ES-345 is made from laminated figured maple top, back sides, and features vintage-accurate quartered Adirondack spruce braces and a lightweight centerblock for that classic ES tone, resonance and sustain. The gracefully aged VOS Sixties Cherry finish and 3-ply tan/black/tan binding provides an authentic Gibson aesthetic. For traditional Gibson comfort, playability and style, the mahogany neck is carved into a period-accurate 1964 rounded C profile and carries a 12 -radius dark rosewood fretboard that sports tan binding and vintage-correct aged-cellulose split parallelogram inlays. The 1964 ES-345 comes equipped with a pair of historically-accurate, slightly overwound Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers to re-create the sonic magic of those coveted vintage PAFs. These pickups are wired through a classic ES-345 control layout, which consists of 2 Volume controls, 2 Tone controls, a 3-way pickup selector, and a multi-position VariTone switch. Representing one of the most significant differences between the 345 and 335, the onboard VariTone switch gives you instant access to an impressive array of tonal colors. From the Kluson tulip-button tuners down to the ABR bridge/lightweight stopbar tailpiece combo, all of the gold-plated, vintage-correct hardware has been gracefully aged to perfection with Gibson's proprietary VOS process. New for 2015, the Limited Run 1964 ES-345 features a Historic truss rod for superior adjustability, vintage-style No Logo potentiometers, historically-accurate 45 deg
