Up for sale, a 1966 Epiphone Wilshire XII in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This is a particularly rare twelve string guitar, produced in Gibson's USA Kalamazoo factory and featuring a pair of Gibson's early mini humbuckers with clean pat # stickers on the baseplates. The Wilshire is 100% original with the exception of the "Star Guitars" bridge which offers much more accurate intonation than a stock Tune-o-Matic and sits perfectly on the stock mounting posts. The pickups deliver the fullness and great harmonic content that you expect out of a classic 1960's Gibson pickup, with the shimmer and chime in the top end that comes from the mini humbucker design. Few vintage twelve strings were offered with a mahogany body, and the warmth and sustain of that particular tone wood gives the Wilshire a unique sonic range that you simply can't get with a Rickenbacker or Fender. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Wilshire plays extremely well with comfortable, low action. The neck has a medium C profile that fills the palm nicely and is just wide enough for accurate lead playing without things feeling too cramped. The bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard sports the original frets which are in fantastic shape, with plenty of height and life left and very little wear.  On the headstock, the two original sets of strip tuners are intact, and given the transitional 1965-66 features on the guitar, the guitar has one set of Kluson "single line" tuners and one set of "double lines", both equally aged and undoubtedly factory installed. On the body, all of the electronics work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup and stock 1966 dated pots with original solder joints.  All of the chrome on the body is in truly about as clean as you're ever likely to see on a '60s Epiphone, with plenty of shine left. The original cherry nitro lacquer finish is 100% original and virtually unfaded with no touchups or overspray. The finish hasn't darkened or turned a brownish tint like many Gibsons, and still has a vibrant cherry luster. Cosmetically, the guitar is a very well kept example showing some light nicks and marks of wear mostly on the body contour on the treble side of the rear strap button (best seen in photo #9, directly south of the knobs). There are a few other tiny assorted dings and light finish scratches in the clear coat, mostly on the back and almost nothing through the finish.  As the photos show, this is a very clean example of a rare USA made Epiphone model from the heyday of Gibson's involvement with the company.
A modern hardshell case is included.
