Gordet full conservatory oboe with left hand F and 3rd octave key. This instrument was played professionally in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area by its first owner. I am its third owner. As far as I know, it has never cracked (I see no evidence of pins or filler). There is a scratch by the 1st octave, this is not a crack (see close up picture). It has an unusually good forked F: better than my two Royals, my standard Loree, my Laubin, and the two Howarth XLs that I recently tried. Upper register is stable and centered. Three years ago, I spent hours with it at the workbench of the only woodwind technician/repairperson that I trust to voice my instruments. The scale was already good, but after numerous minor adjustments, now it’s better. I bought it to use for outdoor gigs, as it’s a good tonal match for one of my Royals (usually my primary instrument) and my reeds for that instrument are pretty much interchangeable with this Gordet. But ironically, I haven’t had a single outdoor gig since the day I bought it. There’s no point in it sitting in a closet not being used, as it’s a nice instrument and would be a significant step up from a student instrument, or for a recreational player, or for the Gordet connoisseur. Minor plating wear, better condition overall than would be expected for its age. Serial 942S…which is mysterious, even for the notoriously indecipherable Gordet numbering system. It’s in playing condition and I’ll adjust it before shipment, but as with any woodwind that gets shipped it may require minor adjustment once it arrives. New case and case cover. I will include an original Gordet case if desired (blue interior, see picture), but that original case and cover isn’t in the best of condition. Shipping is by UPS 2nd Day Air. Overnight for additional charge. PayPal only, I will ship no later than the next business day after being notified of payment. Even though official Ebay page says no returns, I will offer a three day return privilege IF instrument is in the same condition as it arrived, IF you use the same packing materials and boxes, IF you pay to send by UPS 2nd Day Air, and IF you pay to insure for the “Buy It Now” price. No exceptions to these return conditions.
