Item description Barbier silver-plated flute in very good condition. Total length 67.6cm. Sounding length 60.4. Inscription reads: lyon Grand prix F.BARBIER/BREVETE S.GD.G PARIS H0rs Concour number 985 Complete and original.This flute has never been shortened. Keywork free from old repairs; body head and foot without dents. Probably made 1895 - 1900 by Florentin Barbier, soon after the Exhibition and before he worked for Couesnon. Giannini records that Barbier was one of four flutemakers exhibiting at the 1894 Paris Universal Exhibition, and received silver medals. Origin : France, the head joint stamped GRAND PRIX LYON 1894, F BARBIER, BTE SGDG, PARIS, Hors Concours number 985 Date of production : 1895 - 1900 Material : Silver plated Measurements : Total length 67.6cm.
