An absolutely beautiful and stunning Octave Mandolin built by Andrew Mowry in Bend, Oregon. I could write on and on about this work of art of an instrument but don't take it from me - read the owner testimonials on the Mowry Stringed Instruments website. The color tonality of the Gibson Llyod Loar era finish is beyond remarkable with an aesthetic feel to match. The neck contour is what we dream of; a more perfect playing feel I couldn't imagine. The workmanship of course is breathtaking to say the least and we haven't even gotten around to the sound and tone of the instrument! When they say "you won't be able to put it down" well this is the epitome of that expression. We all work so freakin hard and deserve a great present once in while - don't we? We'll get a sound file in here shortly. Built on the 16" L-5 body pattern constructed of beautiful flamed European maple back and sides with even grained spruce soundboard, bound headstock with ebony overlay along with a delicate custom inlay, individual Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons, adjustable ebony bridge, bound ebony fingerboard on maple neck, ebony pickguard and custom tailpiece set up for ball end strings. The scale length measures 24-5/8" with 1-7/16" nut width. Ebony arm rest. Deluxe TKL case. Exceptionally fine condition - I don't see a mark on it.
