On Dec-23-16 at 17:40:10 PST, seller added the following information:Just written by the maker. These will no longer be made in this way.I just finished tuning the last Halo of its original size, design, material and process Jim Dusin and I began developing together over nine years ago. I am very excited about the future of Pantheon and the Halo, but for now I'd like to share with you my feelings on the past.Creating the Halo alongside Jim, , has defined my career as a steel craftsman and tuner for nearly a decade. The experience has been tremendous and I greatly appreciate all of you who have supported, encouraged and even critiqued us along the way. Before us, there was only the Hang. Now, there is a thriving art form and industry surrounded by you, a loving and protective community. Once I saw how these instruments affected people I knew we had to encourage and help new makers bring more instruments to the world. The art of tuning is not one easily taught or learned thus I knew Pantheon Steel could not fill the void alone.I recently heard there are now 100 new handpan tuners in the world. Amazing. From two to a hundred in this short period of time is something to celebrate and I am proud to have taken part in that process. Cheers to every one of you who have taken up the hammer. (For those of you that have, I'm sure by now you've realized it's a life changer!)No reflection on how Pantheon Steel, and I personally, came to where we are would be complete without a special thank you to Trinidad & Tobago. No thanks will ever be enough; without you, of course, and the steelpan, there would be no handpan. And in the same breath I urge us all to remember, that while there is a handpan, there is also still the steelpan, following its own voice, and evolving and thriving as well. For this we are doubly blessed. The handpan is a blessing, and I do believe it is a gift. It is my hope and prayer that if a Halo has made its way into your life, that it has enriched it as much as it has enriched mine in its making.
When I think of the gifts I have seen the Halo, and all handpans give, it is not just their music that makes them special. It is the doors they open between us; the interactions and relationships sparked, that perhaps wouldn't have otherwise been possible.
There is truly magic behind, and in, these instruments, when they are made with care and integrity. That at least is my opinion, my experience, and my intention. That magic now lives in over a thousand Halos, and settles one last time in this particular form and voice, in one last originally made Golden Gate. One gate closes. Another opens...
