1975 ARP OMNI 1 Vintage Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer String Machine Works! Moog 1975 ARP OMNI 1 Vintage Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer String Machine Works! Moog Looks good and works correctly. The slider caps have fallen apart on the inside. So, I wedged some electrical tape inside to keeps them from falling off. Some bolts are missing on the bottom. The solid walnut end blocks are in nice shape as is the aluminum body. See pictures.
With this original model, there is only one synth envelope which is shared for all keys. So, if you are holding down notes and hit another key, all held notes will retrigger. This was corrected with the OMNI 2 (1977). From vintagesynth.com:
"The Omni is an analog synth with preset Orchestral String sounds. It has polyphonic Violin and Viola waveforms as well as monophonic Bass and Cello waveforms. It is split into 3 sections: Strings, Synthesizer, and Bass synth - all simultaneously available. It has traditional and simple VCA, VCF, and LFO controls for contouring your sounds as well as a nice chorus that really thickens up the string sound. It has no program memory." Here's a video of the actual item for sale:
