Beautiful 1971 JOSE RAMIREZ 1A concert classical guitar, including an 1970s American-made fitted hard shell case with built-in humidifier. Purchased in Washington, D.C. in 1971 from Sophocles Papas -- the premier concert guitar dealer of his time. Used lovingly by its original owner for over four decades, this fine guitar is ready to find a new owner who will enjoy playing and treat this instrument well.
The Ramirez 1A is in excellent condition. Beautiful inlay work around sound hole and back of body and neck. Binding around all edges of body, front and back. Good, very straight neck. Bridge is in excellent condition. No repairs ever needed. One small string scratch at bottom of bridge, another small visible mark on back of body. Does need to be restrung. Otherwise no issues. The fitted case has a broken handle, one end of which needs to be re-attached to the fitted bracket (see detailed photo). The leather shoulder strap is fine. This guitar is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship!New models in the Jose Ramirez 1A class currently run $13,750. Please inquire with specific questions. Buyer is responsible for any shipping insurance s/he would like included. Thank you.
