This is a 1965 Martin D-21. This surely is a rare guitar, and they seldom hit the market. As you might already know, the back and sides of this guitar are made out of Brazilian Rosewood. Martin discontinued the use of Brazilian Rosewood in 1969 from their normal production models. Having a guitar like this custom built today would cost you well north of $10,000.Now about the guitar. If you're a bluegrass picker, this particular guitar has been described as a banjo killer. It has some incredible volume to it.It is one of the last production D-21s to feature the Kluson tuners. The guitar has very good intonation and is not in need for a neck reset for quite a while. It doesn't suffer from the common "pickguard" top crack. There is an old, but well-repaired crack on the bass side of the guitar. I'm setting the price of the guitar high, but please make me an offer. You have a choice to buy this guitar with the newer Martin Geib style case pictured, or the original case this guitar was sold with in 1965. I can provide pictures of that case on request.
