1960 Tele Custom with Factory Gold Hardware!!...When was the last time that you have seen one of these?....Have you ever seen one of these?....This is a rare bird,it's the only one I've ever seen and I've been trading in vintage Fenders for over 30 years!
So yes, it has some changes, as the price reflects...Heres the modsBody and neck refinished and aged at MJT with nitro lacquer..It had been routed for humbucker..I put in a Seymour Phat Cat P-90.with gold plating... Aftermarket aged guardNew decalControl knobs are older,but not original to the tele... Original to the guitar
Bridge and saddles with top loader option as well as string thru body..these are only seen on 1960 TelesNeckplate with serial # at the bottom...again, a 1959-1960 thing ...Single Line Kluson tuners with one changed to a double line...Control plate ,pots and switch...Bridge pickup is original but rewound..Original frets still in decent shapeOriginal AshtrayOriginal brown tolex caseNeck date 6/60 no body date..pots date to 1960The 7th fret clay dot has a small piece missing out of it..Theres a spot a few inches long where the binding is completely worn away from armwear....as you can see by the wear at the volume control this tele has had a lot of use, but it still plays and sounds great...Leo really made them right!!I'll add more pics of pot dates and under the guard etc....please feel free to ask all questions that you have Just as a footnote..I'm interested in trading this for a 59-64 Strat of equal value....
