Hofner PresidentThis is an absolutely beautiful original Hofner President dating from early 1959.Made in Germany, this has a sunburst finish known as ''Brunette'' with fully boundbody, neck, headstock and soundholes and with original tortoiseshell scratchplate.There are two black rectangular pickups with rounded ends - these were used from 1957to 1960; together with the control panel containing two volume controls - all working.This is the pre 1960 model, so it has no truss rod but the neck is straight; and the rosewoodfingerboard has twenty-two frets with triple mother-of-pearl dot markers. The headstockalso has beautiful mother-of-pearl inlays, and the original three on a side tuners.The back of the body is a two piece back with lovely matching graining, and unmarked.The label inside dates this to early 1959.This is a collectors guitar which actually came to me from a small private collection.It has its original case which is also in a good condition, and not only is this guitar beautiful but it plays extremely well too.Any questions please feel free to call on 07544 887582.
