Here is a rare early 1960s HOPF Twisty guitar, single pickup, vibrato, all original and in excellent vintage condition. The multi-laminate neck is similar to some Framus products and is straight and true. Stylistically, this guitar is totally space age, with no position dots on the board, a futuristic headstock, a pickup that looks like it came out of a UFO with a glittery centre, and is complete with the whammy arm and tip, and the knobs/switches, which are all impossible to find if you lose them. And it was made in Germany by craftsmen. The body finish is a very unusual orange-peel textured red/pink and looks metallic but isn’t, and has a little arm wear but not enough to spoil the look. Best of all, it sounds GREAT, and plays FANTASTICALLY  well! It is a top quality guitar, and would be really perfect in a beat group/Joe Meek/retro situation. The neck is comfortable, the frets are good and it stays in tune. Tonally there is enough variation to keep anyone happy, and it responds to dynamics well. A great guitar, overall.
