This auction is for vintage Conn Wood Bassoon. Made in Western Germany by Schreiber. The serial number is 3259 and it is visible on all pieces. Comes with a C1 Bocal and also the hand rest and original Conn Case. This Wood Bassoon is in overall good condition. It has been in storage for a while and I am not an expert so it needs to be checked over. The bassoon could use a complete cleaning and the keys and metal parts have tarnish and scratches and worn plating and could use polishing. I have looked the wood over and I see one crack in the tenon (see picture with arrow). There are dings and scratches in the wood but no other visible cracks that I can see. The pictures show white streaks but these are from the camera flash. Some of the pads look ok but you will want to have them checked and replaced as needed and the bassoon may need adjustments and lubrication. The palm rest, bracket and tightening screw are present. The C1 bocal included is in good shape, it needs cleaning. The original Conn case is in rough condition but will provide good shipping protection. The case may need to be replaced.
