Rickenbacker 360 USA 1987 - Own a Piece of History! I bought this earlier this year to relieve a very dear friend of one of his wonderful collection of vintage guitars (so he could buy yet another one). I think it is the only one of its kind on sale in Australia I have played it at blues gigs and jams and I now believe that it would be better in the hands of a pop or country or rock player, as it will suit those genres better than it does blues. (I played the same model in Tamworth in 1990 and 1992 and it sounded great. Or I thought so!) My friend was the second owner of the guitar which he bought in the USA, and his Qantas flight tag is still inside the case (along with a spare set of D’Addario 10-46s, and an Allen key for the truss rod, as well as a key for the original Ricky case). I have left in the teardrop chamber some thin cotton squares I inserted to stop any feedback when being played at very high volume in a smallish pub – and these are easily removable with chopsticks! The guitar was hanging on my friend’s wall for 12 years by a leather strap around the top of the neck. The strap got mouldy and stuck to/ate into a bit of the paint on either side, as you can see in one pic. This is (remarkably for its age) the only blemish on the guitar (other than a 2mm chip out of the paint on the front/top near the master tone control - the small 5th knob) and is entirely superficial, albeit a small ugly patch in the paint on each side. I am going to have to charge $70 for a courier anywhere in Australia as the case is too big for Australia Post, and too heavy too Or I can arrange drop off to or pickup from most Sydney Central and Northern suburbs (I now live in Brooklyn, in case the buyer lives in Newcastle or the Central Coast). Check out my 100% positive feedback and 414 Turquoise stars and know that I am a top eBayer who only sells the very best gear. Good luck with your bidding! And the wonderful features of this piece of history are: Deluxe bound hollow body construction A special contour around the body perimeter makes this guitar incredibly comfortable to play on stage, as does the weight and beautiful balance of the guitar, and the flat back 10” radius Rosewood fingerboard inlaid with the classic Ricky ‘Pearloid’ markers Sturdy Maple set in neck with dual truss rods High Gain Single-coil Rickenbacker Pickups (despite the Hi-Gain name, these pickups are in fact conservatively wound with modest output that keeps the top end snap and sparkle of the Rickenbacker sound very present in the mix) which deliver everything from clean tone to biting overdrive 6-saddle bridge 3-way selector switch for each pickup Neck pickup Volume & Tone knobs Bridge pickup Volume & Tone knobs And a fifth knob which is the magic Master Tone pre-set (essentially a full bass to no bass roll-off) allowing instant tone preferences to kick in via the 3-way toggle Stereo jack output to two amps with dual cords, or both pickups on one jack output (nearest end strap pin), or one pickup on the other jack output (furthest from end strap pin) Original Rickenbacker case
