Up for auction is a lovely Holton 379 double french horn (serial number 615858). This instrument is basically identical to the Holton 179 designed by Philip Farkas; they are both Large bell throat horns with the exact same wrap, built in the same factory. The only real difference between them is that the Holton 179 has two F side tuning slides, while the 379 has only one. The horn is in very good condition, and plays very well. The valves move well and have like new compression. The slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there is some isolated scratching, a dent has been removed from the bell throat and bell flare, and there are a few small patches of worn lacquer. The minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of them affect the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This instrument comes with a somewhat worn hardshell case, and a mouthpiece in good condition.All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N. Curry St. Carson City, NV89703(775) 301-6289
