This is a nice 1966 Epiphone Sorrento cutaway guitar in very good condition. It was made by Gibson in the old Kalamazoo factory and is basically the same as an ES-125TC except for the Epiphone head stock shape and it has the factory original Gibson mini-humbucker pickup which works well and sounds great. The serial number and date codes on the pots confirm that this one was made in 1966 with the pot date codes from the 7th week of 1966.      It has a 24-3/4 inch scale, the same as on the 50s Les Paul Juniors, LG-2s, B-25, J-45s etc..., so if you like playing other Gibsons you should like playing this one.     The finish is pretty nice on this one overall. The top back and sides look great. There are some small minor scratches and dings on the back of the neck but it plays effortlessly and they can be touched up. It has some play wear but the original frets are still very good overall. This is a good one because it has had the neck re set for good bridge height, an issue with many of them. The truss rod was never over tightened and the neck was removed cleanly and the original neck joint was undamaged. There are pictures of the neck cavity available on request. I fit a new bridge base to the top but the original wooden base is in the case compartment and still works.     I bought this guitar because I had seen some players play these on a jazz stage at a local music/arts festival some years back. They were playing straight into Fender tube amps and the sound was killer for jazz/fusion. So I bought this 3 years ago, had the neck re set and designed and built a custom pick guard to hold a 60s DeArmond pickup with a blend pot for the pickups so that it would selects either pickup or any possible blend of both. The original tuners still work well and the buttons are still good but I planned to put new Tonepros on it.  I  bought a new hard shell case for it but never got around to upgrading it beyond building the custom pick guard, cleaning the pots and putting in the extra coax for the conversion.     This is a very cool guitar. It has the depth and openness with a fuller warm bass than you can get with any of the newer Gibson semi-hollow body electric guitars. Some describe it as sounding like a cross between a vintage ES-335 and an ES-330. Also the old wood and the hide glue used in making the laminates gives a better sound. So the acoustic tone is better to start with, and that with the original mini humbucker make for a great sounding guitar. It also has a really nice sunburst and you can still see some red it in it.     I built a new pick guard that looks like the original pickguard and its on the guitar now. Note that there are no scratches under the pick guard, the top looks great with or without it. I am willing to include the custom pickguard for the 2nd pickup with the unwired blend pot but not the 60s DeArmond pickup. However it has 2 small mounting holes under the pickup so you can buy one on ebay and install it or mount any thin pickup on it and the blend circuit is available on the Stewart MacDonalds web site. I will include the blend pot with the pick guard.     I will guarantee that this is a 1966 Gibson made Epiphone with good action and playability in good playing order and with the original finish and hardware. It comes with a good new hard shell case. Payment by Paypal or coventional methods. I will pack it very carefully.
