I have been the caretaker of this musical instrument for 6 years now. I purchased this from the auction firm Eldred's when they were liquidating a recording studio in 2010. I purchased because it had the perfect Gibson J-50 "sound" and was planning on building my own recording studio with a wide array of acoustic and electric instruments for artists to choose from during recording sessions. My career has taken a different track, and I am now selling off most of the guitars and amps except for what I will keep to play myself. There is some minor wear to top, sides, and neck. It is likely the bridge was replaced. Includes hardshell case. It is also likely that the spruce top was refinished at some point given that it is in perfect condition, which would be very unusual for a guitar of this age. There is a hole near the strap attachment point where someone likely installed a jack for a pickup. Notable wear points include the fret board around the first 3 frets of the High G, B, and E strings. I do not find that it effects playability, and actually gives it some character, but look carefully at the photos I took right around the neck area there. There is also some finish damage on the mahogany side about the size of a penny. The clear finish has been chipped off, but wood is relative unaffected. Please see close up photo of this as well. Email me with any questions.
