It is hard to know EXACTLY what this is, so lets start with the facts...This is a 1963 Fender Deluxe Amp. The original transformers date to: Power 606-313Choke 606-312Output 606-314The filter caps have been replaced as well as the bias cap, and the optoisolator. The speaker is a later one from 1969. A 3 prong cable has also been added. The amp works perfectly and sounds pretty damn good, although the speaker is the weak link. It works fine, but the amp sounds much better (to me) when using another speaker. Cosmetically, I would say it is in a little above average condition. It looks like it has been used, but not abused. It looks to be original down to every screw, other than what has been mentioned above. The tubes are the original throughout...RCA power and rectifier (5UR4GB?)...Amperex, Sylvania, and Tung-Sol preamp tubes.Ok, now for the interesting part. The amp has no serial number. It doesn't have a tube chart and doesn't have any indication of it ever having one. The transformers date ridiculously early for any blackface amp I have ever seen. The wiring/lead dress is unlike other Deluxe amps that were produced "on the line".The "First Deluxe Reverb" was here on Ebay not long ago...serial  # A00100, and it had the same output and choke dates, but the power transformer was about 3 months later. That in itself, doesn't tell us a whole lot. But I have to think, when you add all these things up, you have to conclude that this is some sort of prototype amp, or an early employee build? I don't even think it would be a complete stretch to say that this may be the first Blackface Fender amp....Ever?!?!I have asked the opinion of somebody who knows much more than me about old Fender amps, he confirms what is confirmable in my statements above and thinks that being a "pre-production" model is a possibility. Like I said in my opening line, "It is hard to know exactly what this is". But, it is for sure a rare amp and a special one.I'm well aware the Ebay amp police are out there and forming their opinions. I welcome that, and in fact challenge anyone to find me an earlier example of a blackface amp. Seriously, I'd love to see/hear what everybody has to say...I have all the pictures you could ever want available, please feel free to ask for whatever you need. This amp will also be posted on that other gear website, more pictures there. Thanks a lot,Johnny205-223-5369
