Aged Tuners, Ashtray Style Bridge, Compensated Brass SaddlesUsually We build pretty guitars, with shiny new urethane finishes. and we do paisleys in any color imaginable. But we have had interest in relic bodies with B benders and G benders installed. So we decided to go ahead and make a few relic guitars. This one has a smoky butterscotch look, like its been played for 50 years in bars.
This guitar comes complete with our super lightweight B bender system, and our 3/2 Boost coil Forrest Lee Jr pickups. We use 1/4" Alnico magnets for the E and A strings, and stagger the 3/16" Alnico 2 D string magnet. The remaining magnets are 3/16" Alnico 2 slugs. This gives an even response across the pickup thats not brittle, yet punchy, and warm with a vintage 60's tone. We wind them to 6.5 k and then tap, and continue winding around the original coil another 2k of windings. Its not a stacked coil, think of it more like an over wound pickup. This allows, with the push of the tone knob a 2k boost for the over wound fatter and slightly louder tone of todays boutique pickups. The tone pot is a 250k Bourns push-push. so just push it, and it pops up for that boosted over wound tone. You'll have a total of 6 different tones from these 2 pickups. From vintage 60's to rockin overwound modern tones, our pickups are fast becoming a favorite with players all over the world. Designed by Forrest Lee Jr and Jeff Callahan, and hand wound by Jeff Callahan in California USA.
The B bender is manufactured in the middle Tennessee area by Forrest Lee Jr. We use local machine shops, as well as our own machining and polishing equipment to make our benders the lightest correctly placed and perfectly working strap activated benders. Our wood is 100% USA wood. We don't buy foreign bodies and necks like many other boutique builders. OUR GUITARS ARE MADE IN USA, our necks, bodies, pickups, bender parts, and we are even in the process of designing our own bridges. We are proud to be creating jobs locally and regionally.Guitar will ship in new hard shell case, packed extremely well in a new guitar shipping box, and insured.
FCG quality control is Forrest himself. If he wouldn't take the guitar on the road for extended concert dates, it wont leave our shop. There is a wealth of information online about our work. And you can hear our guitars in action from numerous videos. We've made guitars and installed benders for many of Country, Blues and Rock music artists including.Zach Swon (The Swon Brothers), Travis Bettis (Lee Brice Band), John Bohlinger (CMA, ACM, Nashville Star bandleader, Lee Brice Band), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter, Vinny Vincent Invasion), Johnny Hiland,Tim Teagues (Jerrod Neimann) , Dave Coleman (the Coal Men) and many many more including Grammy Award winning producers, engineers and songwriters.
