I have collected guitars since 1986 and I know what separates a good guitar from a truly special one! This 2008 Les Paul Standard is, simple put: AS GOOD AS A LP GETS! The Les Paul will forever reign as the king of tone for a host of reasons. It’s the sound you hear on thousands of recordings from the 1950s to today. The Les Paul is as Iconic as a 68’ Camaro –and just as sexy. It’s a true piece of Americana that has been in continuous production for the better part of sever decades and still reigns supreme of the guitar landscape. Not that all Les Pauls are created equal mind you.   If you have ever searched for a truly great LP than you know it can be a tall order to find one guitar that has the IT (LOOKS, FEEL AND TONE). This Les Standard has it all! The flame top is spectacular! In person you can see the depth to tit.  The rosewood fretboard is also a beauty with nice wood grain and some of the best looking inlays I have seen on any Les Paul. The feel of this guitar is truly spectacular. Yes, It looks like a great but in reality this is all about tone and feel right?  The neck is the 60s slim and plays fast –as good as and Custom shop Paul I have owned! The frets are smooth as silk making bends feel like butter. Aside form that, this guitar has a great balanced feel and hangs perfectly. In terms of tone...  I am a big believer that even electric guitars MUST sound good unplugged before they can sound good plugged in. Issues with electronics and set up and be addressed but poor sounding tone woods with no life in them cannot. This guitar has that nice musical airy woodsy tone vintage Les Pauls are coveted for. There is a nice separation between notes when strumming chords. The bridge pickup is a DiMarzio Super Distortion just like the Ace Frehley so you know it brings the thunder! The Neck pickup is the original BB from 2008 and sounds like velvet. Sustain is legendary and the whole guitar resonates in your hands -it comes alive. Plug in and push your amp and she Springs to life, capable of handling massive gain these are some of the best pickups I have heard in a les paul. 
Comes with the OHSC and is in Great shape too -definitely not abused some minor cosmetic play wear and light fret wear but never abused.
  I have made some steep claims here and I know buying online at this price point can be a gamble. That said, I believe you should go and research me.
