For sale 2 vintage pieces of reel to reel Ampex 601 tube tape recorders from 1954-58. They come complete with their original Samsonite leather case and the input & output transformers. The preamplifier modules have been serviced from the previous owner (around 2014) and everything is original except from the new electrolytic capacitors ( Nippon & Panasonic @105C). All other parts are the originals (signal caps, resistors, pots, etc.). They are also equipped with the octal plug input transformer and the old rca, general electric, etc.. tubes. They have zero modifications and they work great as a microphone or instrument preamps and also as a line preamplifiers.
The mechanical parts are OK but they need new driving belts because the units worked in a home studio only as mic preamps.
You can use them also as a reverb or echo units by simply connecting the main or phones output to line input. Price only for one item only. The other one is completely the same but it works with 230VAC.
