Offered here is an excellent original 1920's WESTERN ELECTRIC 1-B Microphone housing with original WE 387 transmitter element. This is a great classic microphone in excellent original condition and complete. A less common version of the 1-B housing that includes a optional boom hanging bar on the base. As the photos show, the microphone is all 100% original and complete, inside and out. Guaranteed as described and as removed from display.The 387 microphone element is very impressive, a beast. Measured approximately 3.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick, and is made of machined cast iron and nickel plated. Well engraved with the Western Electric marking and patent information.The bronze finish on this 1-B microphone suspension housing enclosure is excellent and has nice original patina. Includes both front and back covers. The screens are all excellent and no holes. The mounting springs are all there. The element is wired but the wires were clipped at the base. The felt bottom is original and very nice. Some minor dust showing but as found, the microphone is not cleaned, polished, or buffed. Has no "touch up" or "restoration". No dents, cracks, chips, or damage of any kind. The microphone is untested.Impressive and well made microphone, heavy. Measures approximately 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Well preserved and cared for. The photos are part of the description and should represent the condition but please ask any questions.
