UP FOR SALE !A wonderful 4 string banjo by Paramount. This is the Junior version with resonator. It has been played and used up until recently, although not by me. I play guitar, but not banjo.Everything about this instrument is just wonderful. It is very heavy for it's size, due to the wood resonator. The neck looks straight. There are 2 "hooks" on each side that allow for the resonator to be removed, which is where the serial numbers were located, on the bottom edge of the inside and on the support strut beneath the neck.For an instrument fast approaching 100 years old, it is in great condition. I've pictured the back that shows a few small scratches. The peg tuners are very smooth and function wonderfully.Some things I've learned: it has a Pyralin overlaid peg head, exquisite work and rare.
based on the serial # 13703, it should be a 1932 or 1933 productionHere are the measurements: 33.75" long, 12.35" across the back of the resonator, 11.75" across the top.The original case is in fair condition. There is a seperation on the top, around the body, but easily repaired The lining on the inside is still strong and effective. There are extra strings, a strap, what looks like a spare bridge for a different stringed instrument and some flat picks in the center compartment.There is a wonderful restoration of this version that you can see at 4stringbanjos.Please ask any questions you might have.
