This is another very nice flute made by Rudall Carte in London in the early 1920s.  To say that this company was the best producer of quality professional wood Boehm style flutes is beyond question.  This open G#  instrument, which is in excellent playing and cosmetic condition following a full overhaul by the great Pat Nash of Mynett Music, is no exception and plays with a full yet sweet tone "spot on" at modern a=440 pitch.  The thinned headjoint responds quite nicely, and the lovely keywork feels oh so good in the hands.  The wood is in nice condition with a hairline crack in the head having been repaired long ago; the headjoint also wears a nice silver band for added protection of the wood.  A small crack on the footjoint in the usual spot is the only other blemish to the wood.  If you want a very good pro wood flute at a price that won't leave you penniless, then this would be perfect.  If you have never tried one of these fantastic instruments, then this is your chance to buy one at a price far below retail. Comes in its original case with its cleaning rod and a charming wood grease pot.  These item are not often found with these flutes, by the way.  All in all, this is a great deal and would make a super post Christmas purchase!!
