Here is a 2011 Fender USA 1952 Vintage Reissue Telecaster that I have covered with one of my custom, hand-tooled Western-style Waylon covers. This is the most iconic leather cover pattern.The cover is made from Hermann Oak premium leather and then hand-tooled and laced by me. I put many hours in the detail and visual appeal. Available here is your chance to finally own an awesome Waylon-style leather-covered Telecaster! I put many hours in the detail and visual appeal. The guitar is Fender factory stock. I did wire the pickups to the more traditional setting (without the muffled bass neck pickup). The Fender '52 Vintage Tele is made to 1952 specs, even down to the flathead screws. It has a butterscotch finish under the leather. The guitar is all USA-made! It's a very high-end Fender Tele! The Telecaster is about $1200 by itself! The guitar was practically mint when I bought it from Guitar Center. The cover is brand new and just completed. It is set up with .010 gauge strings and sounds and plays incredible. The look is pretty self-explanatory. Pay close attention to the photos to appreciate the attention to detail and depth of the tooling work. You will not find this kind of depth and detail on eBay for this price. In fact, leather crafters can charge upwards of $2500 for the cover alone.
This particular Waylon cover is what I call the "Worn Waylon." I purposely added a smoke black stain gel to enhance the tooling detail and it gives the cover a sort of worn-in look as opposed to the typical super-white pattern. It is still white, but the smoky gel makes it look very cool, with almost a vintage appearance. It even has the same effect to the back's detail. I must admit, I prefer this look over the all-white version. The details and depth of the tooling is much more visible and dramatic. Plus, it's a lot easier to play and not worry about getting the ultra-white color dirty. I often sell these on a commission basis and the cost for those is $1350 and it's a Made in Mexico FSR/1950's Telecaster. This is a rare chance to get one already made and it's a USA Fender Reissue to boot! It's also outfitted with an exquisitely detailed leather cover that will help increase it's value! You will be hard-pressed to find a Tele like this, with this much detail in the leatherwork, for this price.
