This auction is for a Yamaha 621II Professional Level Wood Bass Clarinet. This Modern, beautiful silver plated instrument is in great condition, and plays wonderfully. The neck can be lengthened to adjust tuning of the instrument. It is keyed down to low Eb and is a two piece instrument. Tuning is great on this instrument, and so is response. The pads are starting to show age, but still have life in them. This instrument retails for over $10,000 and they don't come up on the used market very often, take advantage of this deal while you can. There are no cracks or repaired cracks that we could find on the instrument. In terms of playability, this is a very nice instrument. It has a lovely dark tone that blows away pretty much all the other bass clarinets I have worked on. It breaks down into two pieces, and includes the original yamaha case, which has some scratches on the case. You will find this clarinet a great instrument to cherish for a long time. The original 4C mouthpiece is included, though you will probably want to upgrade it to one that you like a bit better. Take a look at the photos to get an idea of the condition of the instrument below.I should note that the serial numbers on each joint are slightly different, off by 4. I contacted Yamaha about it and this was there response "This is not something that would have been done at the factory. It won't make any difference in the playability of the instrument, but the joints were probably swapped by someone else who owned the instrument. Perhaps a school or some place that had two of them mixed the joints up." The bell has a slight bend in the U area, but like I said before, This instrument is a fabulous player, and has one of the best upper register responses that I have ever come across.
