Here is a stunning early Mark VI tenor saxophone which was just overhauled by Aaron Barnard. His overhaul work is world class and this horn plays amazingly well. He used Pisoni Pro pads along with nylon resonators. The neck is original to the horn and has a matching s/n. It originally had a pickup, but Aaron put a flush plug in the neck. Take a look at picture 7, which is a close-up of the work done to the neck. The work is so well done that it is almost invisible, and does not affect the playing characteristics at all. These early 100,xxx tenors are my favorite range for Mark VI tenors. They share the exact same playing characteristics of the 9x,xxx Mark VI tenors, but are a much better value. This one plays with a ton of energy and complexity, like an excellent 9x,xxx. The entire range of the horn speaks evenly and clearly.
