This is an Avedis Audio Electronics MA5 - a transformer-coupled, all- discrete microphone preamp for the 500 Series format. Based on the classic Neve console pres from the 1970s, the MA5 has tons of gain to juice up any mic in your collection, and a 28kHz shelving EQ boost that adds an amazing sheen and polish to anything that passes through it. A Carnhill/St. Ives input transformer and custom Jensen output transformer give an old-school vibe to the tone of the MA5 that'll make you want to stuff your rack completely full of these workhorse modules.
