Sennheiser made a "Flat" version of their famed 416 RF Condenser Shotgun Microphone, and these days, there are very few of the "F" version to be found. The 416-F is great in the field, not only for dialogue, but especially for sound effects, music and nature recording, where flatter response is desirable. The 416 is also very popular in the voice booth, where this particular mic is often found for recording voice-over talent, commercials and movie trailer voice work.  The 416 was originally conceived as a "T-Power" condenser microphone, a 12 volt powering scheme conceived prior to the standard of 48 volt phantom power. Sennheiser later offered the 48 volt version to work with the newer, popular phantom power standard, but many say the original T-power build had a lower noise floor. This mic combines the best of both designs. Converted to 48V phantom power by 416Tupgrade, (google it),the microphone now works on 48V phantom power, but retains the stunningly low noise floor of the original 416T. See photos for cosmetic condition of mic.  Sounds excellent, much smoother response than the original 416 response, less of a presence peak.  Of course, built like a tank. I am the technician behind the 416T phantom power upgrade, and have converted over 300 416T's in the past 2 years. I originally purchased and converted many 416T's as part of the upgrade development, and this mic is part of that group.  This mic has the fully developed circuit upgrade that is offered at 416Tupgrade (dot com)
