These drums are without a doubt some of the most gorgeous instruments to ever grace our shop. Hit one for yourself and see why some of the world's top pros swear by Craviotto. Since their inception in 1990, Craviotto drums have been considered some of the most sought after instruments in the world. It is John Craviotto's master craftsmanship, and commitment to quality that has set his work apart from all of the rest. Once you hit one of these incredible drums, you'll see why it's no wonder so many players go to Craviotto to find their sound. What we have here is a custom built snare that is sure to please any kind of drummer. Whether you're a king of swing, or a heavy hitting rocker; this thing does it all. This drum features a solid Maple shell. Why a solid-shell over the traditional ply-shell? Well, strap in and get ready. This lessons a doozyÉSolid Shell VS. Ply Shell
Solid shells have a warm, resonant sound that is hard to beat. These drums are typically fuller sounding than your traditional ply drum. This is in large due to the amount of glue used to create the drum. Glue is a "dead" material that doesn't contribute at all the drums sound or musicality. In fact glue actually kills the drums natural tone and resonance. So in short, the less glue the better!Solid shell drums use the minimal amount of glue possible, whereas ply drums seem to made up of just as much glue as they are wood. Think about it; with an 8-ply drum you have a ply of wood, then glue, another ply, then glue, another ply, then glue, so on and so forth. On a solid shell drum only the seam is glued.
So now that class is over, let's get back to this gorgeous drum! This drum is made of a single Maple ply. Maple is often refered to as the measuring stick of the drum industry. This is because of their warm, full-bodied sound with tons of resonance and buttery finish. This drum also features triple flange hoops for a more lively and vibrant tone. These 2.3mm hoops also help keep the drum in tune longer while also giving it one hell of a crack. The industry leading Trick throw-off delivers precise and accurate snare tension. Not only is it incredibly accurate, but this throw-off is incredibly stable as well. Trick throw-offs are guaranteed not to slip even over prolonged periods of play. This gorgeous snare is also equipped with 10 dual-ended tube lugs. These not only provide deadly accurate tuning, but give the drum a classy, timeless look. The hand crafted Inlay on the center of the drum also makes this drum look as good as it sounds.
