This Les Paul Standard sunburst from 1999 looks like an unplayed condition guitar. In the right lighting it has a cool symmetrical flame top appearance. You can get an idea of the flamed appearance from picture 1 compared to picture 9. The pictures seemingly show different guitars but it is fact the same guitar in both pictures. It has been played of course but it shows no signs of wear or use. I just never got around to playing it like I imagined I would. This LP with custom bumble bees, like the 57 historic, is ready to go with strings that are like new with good low action. I had the capacitors swapped out for top quality bumble bees and still I didn't get around to playing it. I have many other electric guitars around that I feel more comfortable tossing around and letting sit in my car during the day. This guitar has been babied since 1999. The neck is kind of fat and more like a 59 than a 60's neck and no way a 57 gold top or 1957 custom fat neck. And no way should a 1990's Les Paul Standard neck be confused with a slims 60's neck like a Les Paul Calssic from 1994 for example. The case combo had been forgotten so I had to drill out the lock. Also a handle rivet for the original Gibson case popped out which I McGyvered with zip tie. Now the case handle works great. You can read about these guitars for days on the internet which I've done. The 1999 and 2000 Gibson guitars are often regarded as some of the best you can get for the price you're willing to pay. I've set up the auction sale for a 5 day period to end Thursday evening with a flat $75 for shipping within the US (International shipping changes the cost). If you buy it and pay for it Thurs. Jan. 12th within the US, I'll have it at the post office on Friday morning before I head off to Las Vegas! |
