This auction is for a very clean 1959 Ludwig Transition Badge Bop Jazz Drumset the sizes are:18,14,12 in their original black wrap.This is a piece of history,there are not a lot of these old sets still around,in these sizes.I don't know who owned it originally,but they put there initials on the bass drum and since they have been there for 50 plus years,I think they are a part of the sets history and natural patina and appeal.The interiors are all all natural maple,the bass drum rail has been moved a few times and there are extra holes that have either been covered or plugged.I like to sell rare vintage sets as I find them,I don't like to recover them or mess with the natural history of these sets.They should be played and admired just as they are.The set also comes with a cymbal L-arm,there is some play at the tilter and the hoops don't look original.Expect some light scuffs and light rust,but for a 50 plus year old set it is nice,at some point the resonant side bass drum reinforcement hoop was replaced quality job.I hope these go to someone playing in a jazz band because they were made to be played,but they are also nice to look at, thanks for looking!
