Hello! Local pickup i THINK... Another of a few items I'm parting with because of dang finacial hardship. I paid over 3000 for this amp 6 years ago believe it or not. The ebb and flow in value of vintage gear is frustrating to say the least! Aaaah! Oh well. This is an amazing amp. A real gigging amp. Crazy heavy. Too heavy to ship i THINK. But f you can figure out a way let me know. Otherwise its a local pickup in Durham, NH. I could also meet you somewhere. Maybe up to 2-3 hours away if need be. Wouldnt mind the drive. Its a 69 in beautiful shape. Hard to believe its almost 50 years old. The Dead and Hendrix were playing at the fillmore when they were making this thing! Crazy. I was going to put 4 EVM 10M's (Im sure you know about those) in this thing but then realized there was no need. These factory JBL D110 F's that came in this amp are sick. Only speakers I've heard that compare to the EVM's. Very heavy. Probably 5 times as heavy as the typical Fender speakers. Very clean and loud. This was a factory upgrade option in 69 to order the amp with these speakers. They were not added later. Back when i was buying this amp i saw a quad of these JBL speakers sell for 1200 dollars on their own! I'd actually love to keep these speakers but what can i do. I think my tech said it has the blackface circuit but if it doesnt im sure you know that a tech could do that in a couple hours. Whenever i get gear or put something together i want to have the best example of what i'm after. i went through a lot of amps and wanted the best sounding Super ever and i got it. The power tubes are the old GOOD groove tubes. Not the crappy ones. I got these other sick tubes for it, the ones Stevie used, just like i wanted the EVM's in there, but realized these sounded great. I could find those tubes if you like and include them with the amp. They were over 200 for the matched pair. The other tubes in here i spent a lot on. Wurlitzer organ tubes, couple kodaks i think, mullard. I put a solid state rectifier there now (no bias needed), but I'll find the rectifier tube i got for it. Another expensive one. A gz34 i believe. I am real anal when it comes to tubes as well. Spent months finding these best tubes. Completely obsessed with tubes for a while. But i forget a lot of what i knew. Maybe you know how i feel. All i know is the combination of tubes thats in there now was very well thought out at the time. Just an amazing amp for the real player. If you want an old blackface amp just to say you have an old blackface then i'm sure you can find it. I understand. I wanted the same thing myself. But when i DROVE to New york to try this amp before i bought it i was just blown away. Anyway, i promise its really a great sounding amp. And you can always do stuff to it to tweak it for yourself. The reason i cant remember some details is that i got real sick shortly after i was obsessed with this one and its been a while. I'm just getting better now thankfully, but this amp of this power doesn't fit in to my scenario at the moment. I have a small Princeton that I'll be micing up. I'll get another Super when the time comes and finances improve. I think its a pretty darn good deal for a vintage amp of this quality. And for me its always kind of cool to buy stuff from people who are really into it and love music stuff. Like me. But theres definitley a lot of great stuff out there for sure. Anyway, its an option for you. Thanks for looking! Cheers, peace, love and happy new year. :) -adam (603-512-1641) Let me know if i can answer any other questions. Also i have a ton of different great tubes. i would always discard any tube that was less than amazing. Pretty dumb actually now that i think about it. I should have written down every reading and labeled every tube i had. i was just a snob i guess. All i know is that the tubes i do have in storage are the cream of the crop. Maybe if you let me know what you like i can look through them and find you something you like. Just so you know the implied reserve price is 1200. i was going to put it in as a buy it now for 12 but i like to give everyone a chance to get it. And maybe I'll get lucky and get more. I just would feel like complete crap if i let it go for under 1200. And thats way pushing it believe me. |
