1980 FENDER PRECISION BASS SPECIAL Body Lake Placid Blue P-Bass

This is a hidden gem. I found this P Bass many years ago in a shop. I was all black and I knew it had been painted and bought it as a project. I took it down and too my surprise I saw hints of Lake Placid Blue! So over that summer I went to work on it slowly sanding it down section by section. Finished the neck and put it away and started on the body. Then I ran into a '66 and never touched the bass again. The Ash body is in nice shape and it is almost done. With a little elbow grease this will be a very nice vintage Fender bass body. On a side note, I believe this is a Custom Order of the 1980 Precision Bass Special. I base this on the fact that the guitar has a HIPSHOT tuner installed on the neck and the body has a "Jim Dunlop Original STRAPLOK" guitar strap mounting system. The paint has nice crazing throughout and the sanded-back primer from the black (a few) paint job really makes the crazing stand out. The neck and electronics are also listed and the tweed case that came with it will be listed over the next few days...in case your interested.
