Up for sale is a 1978 Gibson Les Paul 25th/50th anniversary with the original case. This is Gibsons most attractive Les Pauls that they ever produced and this one is no exception. In fact this one has one of the nicest 3D, book matched flamed tops I have seen on one of these models, and it's also one of the lighter ones weighing in at 10# 15oz. Usually they weigh in at 12#s plus for this model. It's in excellent condition, but it has been played, so it does have some light worming on the backside, a few minor imperfections and some patina on the hardware which is perfect for playing and enjoying especially with the friendly weight. The perfect ones are usually boat anchors, since no one played them because of the weight. The guitar is all original except for the neck pickup which is now a Gibson USA. The original comes in the deal and does work, however the additional lead is for the coil tap and that lead has lost its continuity. You can still use it but wont work with the coil tap. Thehe guitar comes with the original cavity shielding cover taken off for the pics and all pots are dated 137781? (can't read the last number). The guitar plays great with nice low action, excellent sustain and tone..........! And, still has the original frets with almost zero wear. It comes with the original chain saw case in excellent condition with all latches and hinges in excellent condition, too. To sum this up, a wonderful anniversary you can play and enjoy, instead of a case queen, with looks that will kill.
