Thanks for visiting! I recently hand-built this guitar inspired by Jerry Garcia's custom Tiger guitar. This is a through-neck design with a 5 layer neck made from quartersawn Maple and Cherry with a Rosewood fretboard. The body is made from 3 layers of Sapele, Maple and Mahogany. Note there is a dark streak running through some of the Maple visible on the back of the guitar...so the price is much lower than it would be. Weight is right under 8 lbs with easy access to all 24 frets and a very comfortable body shape with fully rounded edges. It strings through the body to increase resonance and sustain.
The 25.5" scale neck profile is similar shape to Fenders 60's "c" shape. There are 24 medium/jumbo nickle-silver frets (Stewart Macdonald #0149) and antique Gold Pearl dot inlays. This guitar has 2 ceramic humbuckers (14k &10K) and a ceramic single coil (8k) by Artec. There is a master volume and a tone control for just the middle pickup and a tone for both the neck and bridge pickups. Each humbucker also has its own coil split mini toggle switch. I designed the electrical compartment so it would be possible to add an on board effects loop (obel) like on Jerry's Guitars if desired. I can add the obel for $100 extra using either the TPC-1 buffer from Wald electronics or the CB-1 from CAE Sound. I can upgrade the pickups to Dimarzios for $50 each for Super 2 humbuckers and $40 for SDS-1 single coil. I can also adjust the strings and setup to your specs. Any mods would need to be a separate transaction after buying the guitar, please allow about a week for mods. Free shipping to continental U.S. and nice hard case.
