WONDERFULVEB KLINGENTHAL ALEXANDER 103 COPY FRENCH HORNDouble in F and Bb* it is written on the Bell :"Sachs-Musikinstr.FabrikenVEBKlingenthal"it is written on the other side of the Bell :1(in a logo)"DDRreg.nr.00046"Also a name is beautiful engraved at the bottom of the bell.*Bore size: 0.472 inch/ 11.98 mmBell size: 12.007 inch/ 30.5 cm*The Sachs-Musikinstr.veb was funded in 1946.It was the best manufacture of instruments in East Germany. Now that became B&S factory in Germany.This instrument maded around year 1948.Probably made by Hans Hoyer This instrument was considered as the best copy of the Alexander 103. In fact, after War, However, the Alexander licences which had a 50 years long validity were then free of right at that period, - as the first samples of Alexander 103 were manufactured at the very beginning of the xxth century.(circa 1905) For my own part, I had the opportunity to look at the original pictures of the Prewar Alexander 103 and I had checked that the both instruments were quite similar to each other. Of course, the Alexander 103 today issued has its own specifications - slighly different from the prewar one.The present French horn is very well built and well finished. *It is a lightweight French Horn.There are some rare dents and dings, scratches and use tracks.The instrument is made of rose brass.Every rotary valve is perfectly functioningThey all have an excellent compression.The sound is full, far open and bright quite typical of the very good Alexander's French Horn. This Instrument is quite homogeneous.The tone is high-sharp: Also there are 2 larger slides in addition to the usual slides and a long mouthpiece.It is an historic wonderful particular instrument.sold as it...*Supplied with a used caseand its German mouthpiece engraved.+ a long mouthpiece.***
