This is an auction for a Gibson Custom Shop Rossington Les Paul, #165.  This is my second Rossington Les Paul. The guitar, known as "Bernice" provided Skynyrd with one of its famous sounds, and this guitar has a "Skynyrdish" pedigree. Let me explain, provide you a few pics as well as video so you can see and hear for yourself.  I am one of the guitar players from The Saturday Night Special Band that featured original Skynyrd Alumni ED KING, ARTIMUS PYLE, BOB BURNS, LESLIE HAWKINGS and JOJO BILLINGSLEY.  We played a series of concerts between 2005 and 2006 to raise money for UNOS, and organ donor charity.  As you may know, ED KING had a successful heart transplant after our tour.Ed had personally played this guitar and said it was "buttery resonance".  Anyone that pays Les Paul's knows what that means, it drips resonance, especially in a tiled bathroom, unplugged. This Custom Shop guitar is stock, no mods were done to it, and its in just as good condition as when I first bought it several years ago. I bought this as a back up to my other Rossington initially, but it just played so much better than good ole' #204, so I sold #204 a few years ago. There are NOT many Rossington Les Paul's that have been used to play Skynyrd WITH the guys and gals from Skynyrd, but this one has.Joe Bonamassa just sold his Rossington, #008 for $32,500, and these will skyrocket in price over the next couple of years. I know the market for guitars in general is down, but I have seen these sell in Europe for well over $14,000.00 US.Best features - besides the Burstbuckers and all of the hand checking, the absolute best feature is when you open the case, ....it smells....OLD. An antique kind of OLD, and one you will recognize if you have been around vintage guitars or grandma's basement.  It plays like a dream, no fret wear at all, heavy, well over 10lbs, just really an incredible player and looker with a unique sound. In the videos, I am playing out of a 1974 Marshall JCM 800 combo 50Wwith JBL D120's (also for sale), but I played it through some Fender's and to tell you the truth, the underlying tone of the guitar was not lost.I can't provide links to the performances because of EBAY'S Link Restrictions, but all you need to do is search YOUTUBE for "Performed by Ed King & Artimus Pyle", or "Saturday Night Special Band - Skynyrd Legends" - there are plenty of videos to watch to see and hear the guitar.  I personally like the black and white ones.No fair critiquing the playing, I am only referring to videos so you can 1) see the Skynyrd members playing and 2) to hear the sound of this guitar. The auction price is FIRM, so please don't email me regarding trades or a lower price.  Thank you for looking.
