Up for auction is my Charvel Guthrie Govan.She's a natural flame topped 2014 model and completely stock including original hard case and paperwork. Condition wise I'd say 8/10. The neck and headstock are unmarked but there are a couple of small marks on the back, nothing significant or visible from the front nor are there any dings on that lovely maple top. Everything about this guitar has been designed to meet the exacting standards of the modern player. The neck is a stunning piece of roasted birds eye maple on a par with that used by the Music Man instruments. The body is caramelised basswood with a beautifully tight vivid flame. The figuring on the front and rear of both the neck and body top is nothing short of spectacular. The body has contours for maximum comfort and upper fret access is ridiculously easy thanks to the cutaway and neck heel design.The locking machineheads are rock solid with staggered post heights to reduce angle over the nut without the need for string trees, the nut is bone and rock hard so many years of playing won't affect the string height, the neck isn't just a thing of beauty on the outside; it's carbon reinforced to facilitate consistent neck relief and stability no matter what the temperature or humidity. The pickups are wound to Guthries exacting standards and thanks to the five way selector give every tone imaginable from country twang, honky blues. clean funk through to screaming rock. The volume and tone controls are the smoothest you'll ever try and can be tweaked by the smallest amount to nail the tone you're looking for without going muddy and are a world apart from most "all or nothing" pots found on many other guitars. The input jack is designed to allow the cable to loop over the strap in a way that is nigh on impossible to ever remove by accident. The tremol-no allows you to retune the guitar on the fly without impacting the tuning stability. Although the tremolo system is non locking the guitar has been so well designed that it can dump the low E string to the same extremes as a Floyd Rose system, and pull it back up just as much, but without the need for a locking nut. This makes it a dream to maintain and means no more fiddling to find tools.Guitar has just been professionally set-up by Joe White and the full spec sheet including each string height for each fret will be provided. Includes original hard case and factory paperwork. I'm looking for £2000 plus postage for direct sale.
