I am listing this for a friend of mine in Japan. It will be shipped from Japan (shipping cost is included in the sale price). As such, I will have to ask him for any questions you might have--so please note that it might take a day or so before I can answer your questions. This is a Yamaha Custom Series YSL-851 Professional Tenor Trombone. It has a small bore of .500", mostly yellow brass construction with nickel trim, and 8" bell. "Custom" line was Yamaha's top of the line before Xeno was introduced in the mid-1990s. This one dates from 1982-1984, the only years it was produced. Despite the short production life, it is an astounding trombone. It was introduced in the same year the more common YSL-651 was introduced. Compared to 651, my impression was that 851 had a more refined, modern sound with easier and colorful playing characteristics. I have not tried this particular example, but Yamaha was already known for their consistency even back then. So I am confident this one would be similar to the one I know.Comes with the original case (as shown, its outer shell has a lot of stickers).Thank you for looking!
