Fender Reissue Tweed Reverb Unit - Hand Wired 6G15 Circuit. Vintage Tubes.
Estimated price for orientation: 899 $
Category: Delay Echo and Reverb
Class:
Description Brand: Fender
Fender Tweed reissue reverb unit that has been professionally rebuilt to model the vintage 6G15 reverb circuit. The rebuild includes removal of the original printed circuit board and power transformer. A new 6G15 circuitboard was built in the vintage Fender style with a vulcanized fiberboard circuit board, brass eyelets, cloth covered solid core wire, carbon composition resistors, top quality electrolytic capacitors, and tone capacitors chosen to have similar characteristics to the vintage Astron capacitors used in the vintage Fenders. The unit also includes new potentiometers, jacks, fuse holder and power switch. A power supply filter capacitor board with metal cover is installed on the back of the chassis, just as in the original vintage Fender units. The power transformer was replaced with a quality Hammond transformer that has end bells to help shield the circuit from power supply noise. The rectifier board has been changed to a bridge rectifier circuit with protection capacitors across the diodes, and a bleeder resistor to shunt the filter capacitor voltage to ground after the unit has been turned off. A ground lift circuit has also been added to help reduce ground loop hum that can occur with this circuit. Even the switch in the foot switch has been replaced with a quality Carling switch. The original tubes have been upgraded to vintage glass, including an NOS Tung-Sol 6K6, a Mullard 12AT7, and an RCA 7025. I built this unit for my daughter but she has had a number of financial setbacks in the last few months so I am selling it for her to help her out. I have been a master craftsman at a major boutique amplifier company for over a decade and have hand built thousands of amplifiers in that time. This unit has exceptional build quality and top rate parts. There are some dings and marks on the tweed, so please see the pictures for exact condition. The opening bid price is far below what it would cost to have this unit custom made.
PayPal payment due within three days of the auction close. Shipping price is for the continental United States only, no international sales.
