PROPHET 600 by Sequential Circuits
Original MIDI synthesizer.
Very special synth….
All the keys work. All the oscillators, switches and pots are functional and original. Display functions, front panel button overlay super clean. There is minor damage to one wooden side and one key (middle G) has a small chip missing from the underside (see in picture). Has never been in a smoking studio.It also comes with a complete original service manual from Sequential Circuits that includes; Theory of Op, schematics, BOMs, and ECOs.I purchased it in the late 80’s while working at E-mu Systems as a Senior Field Failure Analyst (which I can validate). It had belonged to an E-mu sound designer when I bought it. It had been sampled and used to create some of the vintage synth sounds in the E-mu sound library and also appears in the Emulator III demo song. It had originally come from the staff at Sequential Circuits to the staff at E-mu and was never in public hands. It was part of my studio till the early 90’s. Since then I have had it in storage for over 20 years. It works great and is time for someone else to put it to use. You can see me run through the keys and knobs on youtube:
