Lovely advanced student oboe in excellent condition.Intermediate oboe designed for advanced students to prepare them for professional models.Made of Grenadilla wood, lined with luracast coating to resist cracking (this oboe has no cracks currently, and to my knowledge, never has). Silver-plated keys with modified conservatory keyword including left hand F-key.Comes with the original hard-shell case, great condition with slight wear on the edges (see photo). Also comes with original Buffet box.I played this oboe as a serious student until I was ready to move up to a professional Loree. It has a beautiful tone that allowed me to earn spots in regional honor bands as well as top marks in solo competitions. I recommend it for the student that is ready for a more serious instrument which allows for flexibility in fingerings and complexity of tone and vibrato quality. Or, of course, a conscientious beginner with high aspirations! Appraisal:I had this oboe appraised by a well-respected woodwind expert in the San Francisco Bay Area, and included his findings in the photos. He appraised the replacement value (for insurance purposes) at $6,612.00 and found it to be in excellent condition with only three pads needing replacement-- C, B, and B-flat. He estimated that this work would cost under $100. Pads need to be replaced on oboes regularly, but these are not affecting the playing of the instrument and need not be replaced right away. I will include the appraisal sheets with shipment for your own insurance needs.
