Near Mint condition Japanese-made Yamaha Maple Custom 14x14” floor tom in Vintage Natural. This is a very rare, sought after drum that almost never comes up for sale individually, especially considering the condition. It is so clean, if it had original tags and factory heads, it could easily pass for NOS (new-old stock). A collector grade drum for sure.The original line of Yamaha Maple Customs (not Absolute) - featuring thick all-maple shells and gold-plated lugs, are considered some of the finest drums ever made, and were Yamaha's top of the line drum from the early 90's until around 2008, when they were discontinued. Pristine examples are becoming quite rare and are still in high demand among backline rental houses and high end recording studios.This particular drum, model no. MFT1314, features a 7-ply all maple shell, YESS floor tom leg mounts, 2.3mm steel Dynahoops, and the sought-after updated gold lug with the mounting screw repositioned toward the rear of the casing.Overall, the drum is in near-mint condition, with no scratches, nicks, or dings in the finish. The Yamaha Vintage Natural finish is a satin varnish formulated to darken as it ages. I have no way of guaranteeing that it will match your drums, so examine the photos closely. I did my best to represent the color of the drum in the pics. The hoops, lugs, mounts, and badge are perfect with no scratches or plating issues. The interior is flawless, and the bearing edges are perfect.
