Description
Brand: AKAI Model: UniBass UB1
Type: Bass Guitar Effect To Fit: Bass Guitar

This unit has seen little use and is in great working order!Comes in original box with original power adaptor, user manual, AKAI Professional Guitar & Bass Effects advertise and stickers! This adds to the rarity to this particular unit, a great collectors item. The UniBass is a sought-after Effects pedal for bass players. The pedal adds an octave up (!) signal to your bassline that sounds like an electric guitar. In addition, the pedal can add an upper 5th or lower 4th harmony to that "guitar" signal, producing a power chord! Also, theres a built in distortion effect that can be added to the effected signal. You can send the bass signal through one output (mix) and the "guitar" effect through another (effect) enabling to utilize separate additional signal chains and amplification.Great for gigging purposes where the bassplayer can add guitar grunt e.g. when the lead guitar plays solos. These possibilities makes the pedal great for the experimental bassplayer :)

PEDAL USE EXPLANATION:
1. MIX output
This outputs a mix of the direct and effect signals. If you plug into the EFFECT output, this outputs the direct signal only.
2. EFFECT output
This outputs only the effect signal.
3. DC IN
Plug the supplied MP-9 (9-volt) AC adapter in here.
4. INPUT
Plug your bass in here.
5. OUTPUT LEVEL control
This sets only the level of the effect sound. The level of the direct signal is not affected and remains the same even when the effect is turned off.
6. DISTORTION control
The distortion effect emulates the sound of an overdriven guitar. The higher the setting the more pronounced the effect becomes.
7. TONE control
Controls the tone of the effect sound.
8. INPUT LEVEL control
This sets the input level.
Set it so that the red LED (OVER) doesn't light when playing at your loudest.
Level meter: The LEDs show the following levels for the input signal: Red - overload / Yellow - correct level / Green - low level
9. NOISE GATE THRESHOLD control
Sets the threshold level of the noise gate. The noise gate function cuts off the harsh noise when the signal level is low, especially with the distortion effect.
10. SWITCH MODE
This selects how the MODIFY (13) footswitch works:
LATCH - The footswitch toggles the modify mode on and off.
UNLATCH - Modify is turned on only while pressing and holding the footswitch. (MODIFY LED lights while the MODIFY is active.)
11. SELECT
This selects the type of effect when the MODIFY (13) footswitch is on:
ADD UPPER 5TH - Upper 5th is added to the effect sound.
SOLO - The direct signal is muted and only the effect sound is played. ADD LOWER 4TH - Lower 4th is added to the effect sound.
12. ON/OFF footswitch
Switches the effect on and off.
13. MODIFY footswitch
Switches the modify mode on and off.
