Otto Link New York Hard Rubber Reso Chamber Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece Made in the 1940's J.A. Joe Allard Model Offered is a super-rare hard rubber Otto Link Reso Chamber mouthpiece for alto saxophone. Stamped as follows: On the front: Eburnated (above line) Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. (below line) On shank: Otto Link Co. Inc New York, N.Y. Serial No. On Facing: J.A. This appears to be an Otto Link Reso-Chamber Joe Allard signature model but not stamped with a serial number or with the Joe Allard signature. Made in New York in the 1940's. The mouthpiece is finished with what appears to be approximately a number 5 to number 5* tip opening. The huge round open chamber gives this mouthpiece one of the darkest tones imaginable on the alto saxophone. Very similar to the Meyer mouthpieces from the same period. The playing condition is excellent. The beak has no tooth marks or wear. The tip and rails are perfect. There are deep scratches on the front of the body probably from the ligature. Some other marks and scuffs but nothing major. A little residue inside. We only washed in warm water, no buffing done. All in all, one of the best alto mouthpieces we've ever tried here in the store! If you are looking for a spectacular open chamber mouthpiece with that serious jazz tone then look no farther. This is it! Super rare for player or collector.
