Our shop selling legendary USSR synthesizer - Polivoks"Polivoks" was developed at the Ural plant "Vector" in 1982-1989 years. However, production took place on "Formanta" radio factory. Polivoks had to become a substitute of American and Japanese synthesizers, produced by the Roland’s, the Moog’s and the Korg’s companies. Synthesizer base was developed by a leading engineer Vladimir Kuzmin. The designers were inspired by the design of the soviet military radio. The retail price was 920 rubles, while the medium month salary was 200 rubles. The exact number of synthesizers is unknown. However, approximate number is considered to be 100 000 units. "Polivoks" has a number of unique features among analog monophonic synthesizer. An ability to switch between the modes filter, the bandpass filter and the low-pass filter. Two generators can automatically repeat the “attack” and “release” phases. The input allows to broadcast an external signal (Guitars, electric piano, electric organ). An ability to independently mix sounds (via Mixer) in any possible proportions. There are 4 octaves on the keyboard. The inclined desk consists of the following functional sections: Modulator, Generator #1, Generator #2, Mixer and Amplifier. Giving a possibility to synthesize a broad spectrum of sounds and as well as the chance to change sounding at any time. It is more like work horse for your life sessions or writing tracks in styles like: dnb, techno, rave, acid, breakbeat etc. It is in one line with Minimoog, which selling now for ~ 3'500$. So if you don't have such money, this synth would be a good alternative.See demo video please.
