Here we have a very recent and rare find.  I am offering for sale a 1956 Steinway Model M, 5'7" baby grand in Natural Mahogany finish.  It is also referred to as the "Continental" or "Centennial" model created by Walter Dorwin Teague.  It was designed in 1953 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Steinway & Sons.  It was also the year Steinway decided to phase out using bone keys, but this piano does still have from the factory.  It may be one on the last pianos Steinway ever made with Ivory's?
This piano is in all original condition having all factory installed parts from day one, with apparently nothing altered.  I acquired this piano from the original owner who had all the original paperwork, including invoices and brochures from purchase date , in March 1956.  The rare matching bench is also included.
This piano has never been re-finished and shows some surface checking, a few tiny dents and a few scratches here and there.  Overall, in wonderful original condition.  The solid brass lyre is very unique and in mint shape, as well as the other brass fittings.  Plays wonderful and sounds fantastic. The owners admitted to not playing it very often and having no one in the family that plays piano anymore.
This is the closest thing to having a "time-capsule"  60 year old rare Steinway!  Don't miss out on this one, may never see another like it again, in your lifetime?

On Dec-02-16 at 10:41:46 PST, seller added the following information:  Due to a bidder question, I feel it necessary to add that there is a possible hair-line crack in the soundboard.  It is closed and dark and level.  Looks to me to be a dark line between the age rings?  Im not sure if it would be considered a crack if no separation?  Pictures available upon request.
